Activation code expired?!

I’ve been using AVAST Ultimate software since 2021, without any issue, but last month I renewed (auto-renewal) the subscription, and now the included Avast Premium Security and the VPN no longer work. I tried to activate both using the activation code I received by mail in August when the payment was processed, but I get an error message, saying the code expired.

2 days ago I talked through text with a technician from Avast on the official site, and he told me to click a link from logmein123 (is this normal procedure?), and he accessed my PC remotely. Despite several attempts and strategies, he wasn’t able to solve the problem, and told me someone would contact me through mail to solve this issue.

48 hours later, I’m still waiting. What should I do? I know I paid for the software and I can easily prove it, but for some unknown reason I simply can’t activate it. All comments and suggestions are welcome. Thanks for reading.

First, I’m an Avast user and not an Avast Team member.

There have been some changes to the Avast SecureLine VPN recently and that would impact previous versions of Avast that included it in the package. It is now a stand alone product, so I don’t know if it is included in Avast Premium.

And

This should include SecureLine VPN, Cleanup Premium and AntiTrack.

Thanks for your reply, David. As far as I know, and according to the mail I received in August from AVAST when I paid for the bundle, the Ultimate bundle includes the Avast Premium Security, the Avast Cleanup Premium, lthe SecureLine VPN, and the AntiTrack.

Currently I’m using/not using,…

  • Avast Premium Security is active, but as far as I can understand I’m using the 60 day trial (but I didn’t even click anything to do that),
  • Avast Cleanup Premium is active, I’m using the 60 day trial (but again, I didn’t click anything to enter the demo trial),
  • SecureLine VPN, it simply refuses the activation code say it’s expired,
  • AntiTrack, I didn’t install it.

Does anyone from the AVAST team read this forum? I understand that solving software problems isn’t necessarily easy, but I already lost many hours trying to solve this, and it seems there’s no solution in sight. Which is quite frustrating, because I paid €104 for the 12 month subscription, not exactly cheap.

The recent changes in what is contained in Avast Premium changes (e.g. no VPN), but according to the web link I gave For Avast Ultimate it should.

As far as subscription codes goes, I would have thought when you install Avast Ultimate that subscription code should cover the other components included. So I wonder if you have got individual codes for these, but not applied the Avast Ultimate subscription code to those products or if it can be done.

I will try to seek clarification in another area of the forum.

Thanks David. Regarding the recent changes you mentioned, the mail I received in August is very clear, the Ultimate bundle includes the 4 apps I mentioned above. So, it doesn’t seem likely that AVAST decided to remove one of those four from paying customers.

About your other question, I only received 1 activation code, not individual codes for each component.

Thanks for your time and patience.

This change is fairly recent, but as I mentioned it is still meant to be in the Ultimate bundle.

Why it didn’t install is the question, I don’t know if you can download it separately and install and apply the Avast Ultimate registration/subscription.

I haven’t received any response from my question in an other area of the forum, but that post was very recent.

Quick update… I’m still having this problem. 10 days ago I got contacted through mail by the AVAST team (or maybe it’s just an artificial intelligence mail), suggesting a few steps.

I followed those steps, without success, and replied, explaining in detail the problem, and I’m still waiting for their reply. It’s almost unbelievable. I even explained that I’m tetraplegic, and due to that dealing with this problem is even more difficult, but apparently no one in AVAST reads mails, or cares about their paying customers.

Today I decided to click on the AVAST free 60 days VPN trial (If anyone is curious, yes, the activation code of the free trial worked perfectly. The activation code of the bundle I paid for, it still doesn’t work, it still says it’s expired), to at least have this protection for a few weeks, hoping that in the meantime AVAST solves this problem, but in any case, this is only a temporary solution. I’m still unable to use the software I paid for.

I welcome all comments and suggestions. What else can I do to solve this? Should I simply ask for a refund, and forget about AVAST once and for all?

Unfortunately as an Avast User this is above my ability to help - I will once again try to draw attention to your plight.

Hi @utilizador64 , I’m sorry to hear about your experience. I see my colleague responded to your support query today with a solution. Let us know if you need any additional assistance.

Thanks prokopes_. I’m happy to report that finally everything is solved. Your colleague mailed me 2 days ago, and created a new activation code. I still don’t know exactly what the issue was, but what matters is that it’s solved.

And thanks again DavidR, for your posts and bringing attention to this thread.
