Activation problem

Recently i formatted my pc, and just now i wanted to activate my license again, avast said that this activation code was being used on another computer. Any solution to fix this problem? i just contacted the Technical Support but they haven’t reply yet.

I activated my license before, but after that i formatted my pc and want to activate again, Avast pop out a message box saying that this license is currently being used on another pc.

  1. Download avast! Pro Antivirus: http://files.avast.com/iavs5x/avast_pro_antivirus_setup.exe
  2. Follow instructions: http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed avast! versions…!!)
  3. Reinstall avast! with the downloaded installer from point 1.
  4. Reboot.

Does it work now…??

Did you buy your license from Avast directly or via a reseller…??

Reseller. This license can be activated. I activated it before then after that i formatted my pc and cannot be reactivate again.

After format my pc and want to activate again it cannot already.

Hmm…Have you activated this license on another machine before you did it on your machine.

You ask for support by sending a e-mail to sales@avast.com

I activated this license on same machine. Just formatted the OS.

Since I was perhaps planning to do a reformat myself, do I just need to make sure that I uninstall AIS 7 from the machine before formatting or will I need to ask for my license file to be be resent anyway? I bought AIS through the official site.

As you did buy from the Avast-Store, just reformat and you can insert your license after you reinstalled AIS.

  1. open your existing license file in Notepad
  2. go to http://www.avast.com/resend-license.php, fill in the email address you used for purchase, the avast license key which you can find in the license file you opened in step 1, and the verification code
  3. hit the “Resend license” button.
    4.Insert the Lisence file re-sent to you via e-mail.

Side note: any change in the license file will make it invalid. You can open the file, but you can’t edit it.
