A scan by Avast Internet Security shows that ActiveWindowsSearch is slowing down my W7 64bit desktop pc.
I have searched the net and can’t find anything about this program.
Can anyone tell me what it is and how to stop it from running? If I am able to stop it running, will it have any detrimental effects?

Slowing down your computer also doesn’t mean that you need to remove what’s causing it. In this case, it’s probably used to persuade you
to purchase Avast’s Cleanup Tool.
