ActiveX Problem

Hi,
I have bought, installed and registered Avast Antivirus Pro 6 to-morrow (without having uninstalled 4.8 Pro version). Since that moment, when opening any document of one of my profesionnal (medical) programs, some window opens with something like “This page contains activeX codes that could be dangerous. Do you want to continue”. This happens about every ten minutes and is really tedious. I guess the problem is Avast. So, what to do? Thanks

Probably better to uninstall 4.8 first, bit of a jump to 6.0.1203
You can add you trusted app to exclusions?

Thanks David, but what to do now? Uninstall all?
About the programs I trust, I had not this problem before installing 6 version

Uninstall both versions with the avast-uninstall-tool. Best way in safe mode.
Uninstall first 4.8 and after a reboot 6.0.1203.

If you use CCleaner, let it run then.

Then make a clean install of the newest version (at the moment 6.0.1203) and don’t forget to reboot after that.

V6 will have overwritten V4 - mostly
But yes, uninstall and then use Avast clean up utility

When you use the uninstall utility, you can choose the version, that you want to uninstall:

  • uninstall first version 4
  • an after that uninstall version 6.
    That is, what I mean!

If you don’t do it by this way, it could be, that the uninstall is not complete.
