Ad-Aware says possible virus and Avast says it's clean

Ad-Aware found this during my most recent scan of the registry

Windows Object Recognized!
Type : RegData
Data : regedit.exe %1
TAC Rating : 3
Category : Vulnerability
Comment : Possible virus infection, REG file extension compromised
Rootkey : HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT
Object : regfile\shell\open\command
Value :
Data : regedit.exe %1

I can’t seem to find much other than viruses which compromise the regedit.exe command, and mine works. My big problem is a monitor that goes blank with a loss of power for a second and then comes on again. Can this be a virus?

I’m not sure what it’s trying to say, but “regedit.exe %1” is the default value for .reg files…

 Hi TCPconflicts :

For a more detailed explanation as to what Ad-Aware has
detected, I would encourage you to ask the Ad-Aware
Experts on the forums at www.landzdown.com . I recall
seeing "Windows Object(s)" in the logfile(s), but do NOT
recall if they were "quarantined" by the "usual" process or
if "special" instructions were needed .

I experienced this problem with scriptrap and adaware. Scriptrap reads all scripts and reg files before they are activated for security, Adaware didn’t like it I did so I binned adaware, of course I could have told Adaware to ignore it. I also have reg files open in notepad when activated so I can read it before it gets entered in my registry
