I had to reinstall Windows XP, and have installed IE 7.
I just found out that there are two IE 7 programs one with no add ons and one with add-ons, so clicking on the regular IE program gave me the one that I wanted with the Manage Add-ons option.
BTW: What a difference reinstalling XP has made on my 2003 Gateway desktop. I should have done that a lot sooner.

The difference is that Microsoft gives you both versions for troubleshooting purposes.
If you install an add-on the renders Internet Explorer unusable, you can start with no addons to help figure out which one (if any) is causing the problem.
And yes! rebuilding a computer from scratch can help with speed. Especially if you’ve installed and uninstalled lots of programs for many years.
It’s actually a good idea to do it every 2 or three years.

Seems I remember reading posts of yours awhile back that you had purchased an external hd.You should be using this to store full images of your OS.It’s much quicker to restore an image than to reformat.My favorite freebie ishttp://www.macrium.com/reflectfree.asp

Also, if you should ever decide to install windows vista, there’s a built-in option to create a computer image, or do a file level backup.
