Whenever I try to activate avast! on my Samsung it says “AUTHENTICATION FAILED!” How can I fix this because this is very upsetting.
Hello,
I had this problem once. Unfortunatly, the only fix that I found to this problem was restore the device to the factory setting and then re install avast mobile security.
I’m having the same problem, Anti-theft doesn’t even ask for a password, it just wants username and tel.nr. and it always ends up with Authentication Failed.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Avast but it didn’t help.
Also, the system won’t let me uninstall Anti-theft.
The device is a non-rooted Samsung Galaxy Pad running Android 2.1.
If there’s a way to fix this without having to restore factory settings, it would be highly appreciated.
Hello,
Try to do a factory reset in your phone.
It worked to me.
You error is problaby because you cant uninstall anti theft before remove the device admnistrator privilege from the anti theft app.
Try to do a factory reset, it will problaby fix your issue.
Yes, that would probably work.
However, my question was if there’s a way to fix the issue without doing the factory reset.
You know, I would be very happy if I could avoid having to reinstall and reconfigure all my apps…
Thanks for taking the time to answer, anyway.
This issue is solved elsewhere on this board.
Could you please link to it?
