Administration console update - 1.1.132.15

Hi all,
we’ve just released program update of Administration Console (version 1.1.132.15).
List of fixed bugs/improvements:
* Added “Test SMTP” functionality in the installer.
* Added multiple “advanced configuration” properties (for avast! Firewall and others).
* Added ability to track an “unknown node login request”
* Modified the “report” job so that empty reports aren’t sent via e-mail.
* Modified the full mirror package download, added a corruption check.
* Fixed a memory leak on the network page.
* Various improvements & fixes (GUI and service as well)

for download, please visit http://www.avast.com/business

We’ve also released a new version of BP/BPP clients (for download, visit the same URL).

Enjoy!

thanks,
Pavel Sedina

What is the difference between Administration Console setup and Administration Console full setup?

Just a guess from my side, but maybe the full package includes the installation of SQL server (and maybe some other dependencies), while the smaller one doesn’t…?

Thank you, supposed to be something like this, same as ADNM.

The full package includes the mirror. That’s the only part that is required to be “downloaded” during the installation steps. It doesn’t include MSSQL and other dependencies as Igor guessed.
The other parts that are being downloaded may vary from computer to computer:

  • prerequisites - .net, windows patches, IIS
  • ms sql - you might have your one one

Hi Pavel,

For the new version update whether the customer required to install from scratch or on top of existing version?

And if we upgrade the existing version ,whether will affected to the existing config?

you can install at top of the “old” one. It should use the same DB. During upgrade (install) process the sbc binaries will be replace with new ones, DB will be updated etc.

And if we upgrade the existing version ,whether will affected to the existing config?
it shouldn't. However even as it was tested I'd recommend to created a "backup"...

Hi Lukas,

Great to know that,

Anyway, we ever met this problem previously in our customer site after upgrade and loses their configuration and back to default.

cheers,

Does this update fix the sql error while installing in SBS2003 NON-ENGLISH ??

By any chance, is it yet possible to use wildcards in the autosandbox exclusion list ?
As a software development company we build quite frequently new versions, and it is almost impossible to add them constatntly to the exclusion list, and the constant autosandbox popups are really driving our people crazy !

many of our software is use over the network, starting from UNC paths, so an exclusion like \fileshare\software* could make a big difference in useability !!

ok solved my error,

I’ve installed the new version and was bummed that even though they added more configuration to the firewall shield it still lacks the ability to let you define firewall rules enterprise wide to support a deny all allow these ports/protocols. I’m still stuck using ms windows firewall for our company. I’m thinking I shouldn’t have bought BPP instead I should have stayed with just the basic BP.

You can convert to BP if within 60 days of purchase!
