ADNM and 6 licenses

I really do not understand all the variations of licenses and versions of avast so I would really appreciate if someone answered this.

I need central management (ADNM i guess) from one machine (XP) to 6 machines (XP/Vista, avast! Professional Edition or avast! NetClient Edition ?!?), no servers.

Do i have to buy avast Standard Suite which includes avast! Server Edition or is there another option?

Someone please answer…

Hi nixonie,

You need 6 or 7 licenses of avast! Professional Edition, one per PC (XP/Vista).

If you want to use ADNM (central management) you need 6 or 7 licenses of avast! Professional Edition too, but the program you install in the PC will be avast! netclient, is the same program like avast! Professional Edition but with management issues (the license is the same).

I said that you need 6 or 7 licenses because I don’t know if you only want to protect 6 machines or the AMS (ADNM Server on a XP machine) too.

You don’t need to buy avast! Standard Suite, you have to buy 6 or 7 avast! Professional Edition and ask the “license.dat” file for ADNM.

Suites are a special way to combine server and professional licenses of avast!.

I hope this can help you.

Thank you for your answer!

Could you please be a bit more specific about the quoted part.
What does “…ask the “license.dat” file for ADNM…” mean?

Do i need to do the following:

  1. buy 7 professional licenses and download the ADNM (free?)
  2. install ADNM on the AMS machine
  3. install the clients remotely through ADNM (or using the standalone installation provided on the ADNM page)
  4. use bought licenses for the clients
  • is this the appropriate scenario?

Thanks again.

Hi,

you can ask you “license.dat” to your reseller or here: http://www.avast.com/eng/resend-license.php

For the correct install of ADNM, please use this guide: http://avast.infratech.es/pdf/adnmag.pdf

Thank you very much.
