I am looking at an installation that is pure Novell, no AD, and would like to use avast with ADNM. They do have a windows server available to run as the avast server. For those doing this, how is it working? Any issues? Thanks for any guidance.
would probably be similar to a workgroup installation since ADNM cant read out the Novell Directory Services (forgot the proper name).
Meaning that you can scan based on IP addresses for discovering clients and then install
The downside is that you have to have a local administrator account on every computer, with the same password (unless you like to punch in all the administrator accounts and passwords from every individual computer)
another way to go is:
generate an MSI package in ADNM and install it manually on every computer
automated deployment could be done too depending on your enviroment
if you use novell zenworks for application snapshots to deploy you could go that way, but read the manual for adnm then for security id’s that have to be changed with a tool. This is actually meant for an image from the whole computer, but if i am right you can script the zenworks enough to generate a new id during snapshot deployment
