ADNM not recognising server's installation

Have installed the SBS suite and the ADNM on SBS2003. Did all the initial setup & finding PCs on the network and placing them in the Catalog ok. Deploy only worked on about a 3rd of the clients (mainly XP some vista). However, it does not recognize that the server itself has Avast installed - it appears in the catalog as grey (not installed).

Is there a way to make the catalog connect to it?

try another remote install on it, see what the error is, or check any log files from earlier…

Also, make sure that you have licenses for it.

i was thinking that too but then i reasoned that if there was no licenses for it, the icon would have a little key with it…

This is true, but the OP didn’t say whether there was a key icon or not. They might not even know to look for it.

well the TS says grey (not installed) so i figure he knows the difference between the icons and also its not that hard to spot a normal grey and a grey with a key on it  i might be mistaken tho lol

hope the TS comes to give more explanations

True. Well, the TS hasn’t come back to post yet, maybe they figured it out already.

I for one, had somewhat of the same problem this weekend. I setup an SBS 2008 box at my house, with an IP address, and deployed the server client from ADNM console. Then, when I brought it to the client’s office, and changed the IP of the server as well as changing it in the ADNM console, it still had the server as “not installed”. I repaired avast via control panel’s add/remove programs, and rebooted the server and ADNM picked it right back up again. No problems since.
