Adobe Air won't update

I keep getting a warning to update the Adobe air and when I try it won’t update. Is there a solution or website I can go to for the update.?

Thanks so much!

Thanks am I to update through your link or do I click the mailware link? What site is that mailware link too? I think I saw others posting about this issue too.
Thanks!

Eddy appears to be offline atm. Red Malware link is in his personal signature, it is not what you want to click unless you wish to avail yourself to some malware tools he has within that link.

Click the first link he provided for adobe air. Be sure to uninstall the old version first, then reboot and install the new. ;D

Thanks so much! I just tried to download it to program file I get a error . I tried to download it to another file and it gives me same error. I think it said adobe air installer aready exists. I go and find it and it says not compatible.

I also get an error telling me that the installer is not a valid win 32 application.

I did remove older version.

Do i disable avast and how??

Never disable your a/v in order to install a desired file or program. If one does that, then what if the file is malicious, and is capable of destroying or damaging your system when you run it? Trojans often masquerade as a legitimate file, with the same exact file name you want, but running them will cause all sorts of problems. Wanting something is not the same as needing it.

Give me a moment or two to reply later in a following post to confirm your findings. Don’t do anything just yet.

BTW, where did you finally find your file? File path would help here. Example: Computer>Local Disk C>Users>(user name)>Downloads ??

Thank you so much, I tried to download it to desktop, download file, program file ust to name a few.

I also ran a virus scan and it found a virus which I posted on the virus board.

Thanks.

hi JGM71201,

The road to clear and safe computing is often a rocky one, one that is fraught with unseen and unknown dangers that lurk within every crack and shadow.

The best defence is the user. The reason for that is because the computer is only a machine that obediently does the bidding and wishes of the owner; it cannot tell what file is safe or if it is malicious. It cannot tell what will cause it harm or not if a certain file is allowed to run on the system. It cannot know because it is a machine.

If you can post the link to the thread, will help here. I am going to test the file I downloaded to see if I can confirm what you have found.

Expect another reply here in regards to your issue(s).

Thanks for your kind words. I know what your trying to convey.

Here is the link. I may have to have a friend come solve this if need be. it is getting a little to complicated for me.

I was not sure if we were allowed to post links here.

I see others having this issue too!
thanks again!

VT scan link for Adobe Air installer: https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/f6142cd8f575721f18d2c4f4ca10929b2081d5d767a13410b3b049ce2514c4e1/analysis/1381453562/

Looks as if the file I’ve gotten is clean.

However, having said that, both Adobe and Sun (Java) have atrocious track records for malicious exploits within their applications over the period of the last three years. So, neither one gets installed on my system except for Adobe Flash, and even then, carefully choose what sites to visit, and view flash media on, to prevent infection from either program.

If you choose to run either or both, it is a must to update to the latest (supposedly) secure version to ensure safety.

so how do I do that?

thanks

It’s getting a little confusing following two separate threads with issues you have. Suggest you work with the one you’ve got going in the virus and worms section for now. That would likely prove more productive for you than working with it here.

It just was updated so problem solved.

All of you do such a great service here for us. I thank all of you for your help!
