Adobe, Facebook, and Twitter will become the target of Malware at 2010

Hi All,

Just would like to share with you guys, and discuss about this article (bahasa) :

http://www.detikinet.com/read/2009/12/30/153619/1268653/323/adobe-facebook-dan-twitter-target-malware-di-2010

Actually this article take from McAfee News.

Is it would be true if adobe, facebook and twitter will become the next target of Malware in this year?

A day late and a dollar short is a phrase for this article, has no one told them adobe has been a target for years already and so to has facebook. Since twitter isn’t that old doesn’t have the history yet.

Social Networking sites have been targets for ages.

Is the best opportunity by attackers. And much more if the attacker found a vulnerability.

Social networking sites are easy…
All you’d really have to do to infect someone through twitter, facebook, or myspace is hack an account and send messages to the friends with malware-infected links. The hardest part would probably be getting the password. Seeing as I’ll bet nearly 30% of myspace accounts use a variant of ‘abc 123’ as their passwords.

How is this news? They have always been top targets.

Yep

Edit - Perhaps Twitter not as easy to hack

Yes, my assumption same with you guys.
Actually hackers or crackes were already noticed that each vulnerable applications or social networking it would be a media for them to attacks innocent users.

Does anybody in here have tried it before?

I use Facebook but I do not use Adobe products other than Flash and I don’t use MySpace nor Twitter.

If its good for Bill Pytlovany of WinPatrol fame and Malwarebytes its good enough for me:

Hi Kenny,

Thanks for your information, i have asked to added as their fan already.

I don’t use facebook or youtube, etc. mainly because they are medial intensive and as such on dial-up is just a total waste of effort.

Like anything it is I guess it is a tool and how you use it can either bring good or evil. Unfortunately there are many that haven’t got a clue about on-line security and how to look after themselves.
