I was recently effected by this virus that came from one crack file I clicked on. Before I scaned it with Avast but that didn’t show anything so I thought it was safe.
Adobemgr.exe installs in the system32 folder and eats alot of bandwide. I don’t know what it does but presume it collects very personal info. I have tried so search about this file but you dont find more than 4 posts in the search engines.
I got reed of it with Trend Micro Anti-Spyware.
I also found Limewire cookie registry entries in the memory and registry so stay out of it too.
Hi Adobemgr,
If you want to scan hyperlinks before clicking through, you should use the Dr. Web pre-scanner plug-in, get it from their site (free services). It is only 10 kb and it can be installed for Internet Explorer, for Firefox 1.5, the Flock browser or Opera. In this case you can really scan before the fact. With Avast you have protection de facto, that is after you clicked the wrong link, and the malware should then be confined, and in case of an infection, the virus can be stored in the chest, where it is safe for eventual later delete). But better an ounce of forewarn, then three kilo of protection or cure afterwards. Read this for info: http://www.anyspyware.com/trojan-crack-keygen.html.
Establish what the virus is by updating the backdoored or trojaned file to Jotti or Vrustotal, and if you know what scumware is there, we can see how to desinfect it.
Or is it alrewady in the chest? Download spywareautit and do a full scan to see if you are compromised from here: http://www.snapfiles.com/screenshots/spyaudit.htm Also Dr.WebCureit will find it, and cure it as well, downlaod this free antivirus tool.

avast detection is being improved nowadays.
We must wait a little for avast reaction. Until there, can you send the file to Alwil for analysis? virus (at) avast.com
Thanks and sorry for the inconvenience :-\
Beware where you frequent and what programs you use.
A google search for adobemgr.exe returns many hits, this is just one of them http://www.anyspyware.com/trojan-crack-keygen.html
Cracks and keygens - warez have long been a big distribution vector for new spyware, trojans and other malware. Today I grabbed a sample showing up detected as a trojan by a few scanners. As you can see, it is missed by many..
You may well get more than you bargained for.
DavidR,
There is little point in repeating other posters’ links (see above) when there is no added substantial info given. I do not see why or do you want to score postings? It is no game. We are seriously trying to help people here.
polonus
I hardly need to score postings !
The link wasn’t the only thing in the post, like telling nicoliani how the link was obtained so in future they will also use google or another search engine and how nicoliani browsing habits can bring things they don’t expect. I simply didn’t recognise the link burried in your text as the same one.
So you think I’m not trying to help?
You do have a tendency to post when there is no need to post IMO David. So it certainly looks you are collecting posts doesn’t it when you are repeating what others said?
I filled in a virus report form, but there was no form to send the file (virus). I wasn’t able to find that, I remember that I have seen this on the site, but now I can not find it.
Hi nicoliani,
Anyway, welcome to the forum. From tech we know they are working on the signature of this malware to be added in the virus library soon. It will help if you indeed install the DrWeb browser pre-link scanner, as I suggested, and you have able ad- and spyware protection installed, at any rate you should have Ad-Aware, Spybot S&D, SpywareBlaster installed and updated, and to find up trojans Ewido or A-squared are good programs. Update and patch your sytem fully, and if on XP Drop your UserRights, so you are on the Net as normal user to run minimal risks for hidden installs. We hope that you come frequently to this site for information, and you seldom may need help with a malware infection. Well anyway we do our best to help you, have a malware free Xmas and a virusfree 2006,
greets,

Is there a way to open this files without getting the virus?
Maybe Santa have some soft of this kind for me
Hi nicoliani,
Better leave it untouched or delete it from your comp, but if you want to analyze a file and insist, and this is interesting for advanced users
you could use this software http://www.snapfiles.com/get/filealyzer.html
Just go to the file and open filealyzer with a right click of the mouse, you can see the packers, you can see the Checksum,
you can see what it is supposed to do. ;D
