My PC have an ADSL Internet connection. And Avast 4.6 Home edition.
Do I need any extra protection, such as Firewall?
And if YES, can u suggest some free edition firewall software?

Yes everybody who is connected to the Internet needs a Anti-Virus solution, like Avast but also needs one Firewall. Not two Firewalls because they can conflict.
A good basic firewall is ZoneAlarm free or Kerio. What further do you need? : an Anti-Spyware solution with the following three free programs Ad-Aware, Spybot Search & Destroy and SpywareBlaster and a free Anti-Trojan solution with A-squared or Ewido. anti-Hook is a good program for system integrity. Use a safer browser to surf the Net like Firefox or Opera. Use some protection against scripts in-browser NoScript and use the in-browser hyperlink pre-scanner (10 KB install only) from Dr. Web. SSM is a good system monitor solution from narod.ru. Of course you can pay a 100 bucks for a total solution, but with this bundle of these recommended free programs I think you have even more protection, and it is not so demanding on your CPU.
