ioBit tell me that Avast is blocking the update check process for ASC.
They say :-
"Our update process was blocked by some software.
Please turn off the in-time protection of Avast. See if it works or not. "
Can you advise me how to do this?

Right click the avast ball and choose shields/disable.
Preferably I’d suggest to delete ASC as it doesn’t get along with avast due to it’s included antivirus, never install two AV’s on the same system plus you can do yourself a favour and google some of the well known history about Iobit and their distrustful practices.
