I have the paid version of Advast if it helps though had the purchase of grime refunded… Don’t recommend it after the computer stalled for over a day when I tried to run it.
Running into ‘net::ERR_CERT_INVALID’ and ‘net::ERR_INSECURE_RESPONSE’ errors in all my web browsers while Advast active protection is running.
Please stop mishandling information. Advast is clearly altering credentials in the process of its ‘protection.’ What was there before works when Advast is offline but then doesn’t when it is.
My guess is Advast is snatching the items in question for scanning and putting them back after browser queries them and reads an error.
Anyone have any thoughts? Kinda annoying at Advast in general, find the software overly invasive and crude.
avast is not scrambling anything as it is not encryption software.
If you want help/support, you need to provide details like :
What OS/SP ?
What exact version of avast ?
Is there any other security (related) software installed ? (or was there)
Any other problems with the system ? (hardware and/or software wise)
etc.
If I turn off Advast active protection, everything works fine. There are no attachments in the browser and everything is up to date. I’ve had no hardware/software issues or other security software on this computer to date other then the lock up when I tried to install grime fighter. The only known issue I’ve had in dealing with Advast is when it repeatedly quarantined the initialization program for the online game Archeage and caused it to crash, it was a known issue and I dealt with it accordingly. Other than this, Advast opens allot of threads while web browsers are open causing a notable strain on my cpu and network’s multi-thread handling capabilities. This is why I consider it invasive because I’m tracking its activity on the resource monitor relative to my actions.
Its involvement is interfering with network credential collection, that is a fact, and my limited experience thinks the program is too slow and not allowing the internet to check the credentials while it has access to them. If there is another opinion, I would appreciate hearing it since I don’t really have other options besides purging a paid version of Advast that is getting very annoying.
Maybe I’m mistaking the 40 elements opening and closing under the name ‘avast’ (in addition to chrome, the web browser) on the network protocols, from the network resource monitor. Avast zerg network protocols might be more accurate than the term threads.
But why Avast needs to send separate communications for each element on a webpage is besides the point.
I just want to know ‘what’s the responsibilities of the https scanning portion of Avast?’ because I’ve had to disable it.
I’m assuming its responsible for analyzing all elements within a web page? Checking certifications?
