if you know how to make it 100% bug free the first time… you should tell them how ![]()
How about giving the incessent ridiculous assumptions and questions a rest, your bordering troll behaviour :![]()
Craigb:
How dare you suggest that I am bordering troll behavior. What you fail to realize is that not all people are running beta versions… when in reality it hasn’t been fixed at all!
I asked a simple question: Which I will ask again OK! Was the bad version ‘beta’ tested, a simple yes or no., are we saying all releases are beta tested - yes or no!
Dave
- Well, it has (already) been fixed in the beta.
Either try it or wait for the next final…!!!
- Usually, every version gets tested before release.
Glad it’s not just me having this problem.
Not so much an annoyance, however I was wondering if I had a problem with my installation of Avast!
I was worried that I was somehow running two versions of Avast simultaneously, and I cant afford to do that with my limited CPU!! But I’m guessing that there is some sort of internal check to make sure that this does not happen.
Karl
Davy! Of course all betas are tested, thats the whole point of betas :
and the so called bad version tested fine - some bugs appeared later after the release as even with beta testing it can only be checked on a limited amount of systems but once it goes to stable release then there are millions more types of system configurations to account for.
In reality it has been fixed so please stop trying to twist the facts, betas are reality and the issue in question has been fixed and many more i might add so your free to give the beta a try or simply wait for it to be released.
All these threads about the same problem have been discussed so many times it’s ridiculous which is why i mentioned trolling as your questions have been answered before “many times”.
Thanks Craigb, that’s all I wanted to know… I am certainly NOT trying to ‘twist the facts’ as you put it - I am sure I could have twisted the facts far better if that was the case - OK!
And note: If this ‘glitch’ as the Avast team calls it hadn’t occurred you would not have heard from me lets be clear and that is why I resent your remarks about ‘troll bordering’, why you couldn’t have simply answered this the first time I don’t know, that is all that was required!
Dave
It was answered long ago http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=102073.msg824064#msg824064
Didn’t see it otherwise it ‘would’ be pointless asking, thanks.
Dave
Strange how they can tinker with the pop up and add useless bits to it like they did yesterday with reference to Chrome but they can’t issue and fix and instead tell us to wait for the next release but can’t tell you when.
Height of incompetence really
Some features are online, so it’s possible to “tinker” with them, some are hardcoded in the program, so it’s not - it’s as simple as that.
The beta version is available where this problem is fixed; since there are only bugfixes there and no new features, it’s pretty safe to install it. But, since QA and users are reporting still some problems left (mostly from 7.0.1456), it’s not officially released yet - it will be after those problems are fixed (or at least the more significant ones).
The answer then IS simple, STOP tinkering, start fixing or don’t get paid
All failed staff should be put on warning to fix it within a certain time frame or lose their jobs - That is SIMPLE
The next version is currently in beta testing and will be released as soon as it’s ready.
Count me in as another two computers with the double updated message. It happened awhile ago, disappeared, and came back a week or so ago. One computer is Vista, one Win 7 both current on all updates. Like others - not urgent but annoying.
The only way to fix it is to wait for the next release of avast! or, use the current beta.
Boy, the only reason I came here was to make sure I didn’t have a problem with my installation or how avast was running on my computer. With all I have to worry about and deal with, I am satisfied that this is simply a glitch that avast is aware of and will correct with the next release. I would love to have the time to go all haywire because I have to listen to a message twice that takes all of 2 seconds. But if I did, I think I would spend it doing something a little more meaningful. Please get a life people.
The new program update 7.0.1466 released last night resolves this and a number of other issues.
avast! solved this issue in the latest version 1466 ![]()
make sure you are up to date ![]()
I can confirm that the double announcement issue has now been fixed, you know, I kinda miss it !! ![]()
I’ve never got it since i have the sounds turned off and update popups hidden…
