To start this off, I have 5 total usable licenses for Avast Premier (up to 2017), so why do I receive popups for various other Avast products? A few weeks back, I noticed that I had to go through various settings to disable these sorts of “features” which definitely seems odd. When running a scan within the paid version, I shouldn’t be prompted with a message spouting fictitious issues that can only by fixed using another Avast product I need to pay for, and wouldn’t it make sense to bundle these other products with Premier?
Since the most recent main update, this advertisements appear to have become more of a trend, and honestly it’s getting quite annoying. Even with having those options turned off, after updating my computer for the latest update I was given yet another ad for some other Avast product and how I can start my trial of it right away. Why is this something that happens within a paid-for product? I shouldn’t need to go into settings to change things and even then, these settings don’t appear to cover all of them. Advertisements are perfectly reasonable within a free product, but I’m definitely not using the free version of Avast.
Additionally, I’ve been needing to delay the updates for Avast and would choose the furthest away options as I was basically telling Avast that I’ll restart when I want to restart, but about 2 hours later I would have the same popup telling me to restart my PC, so that system appears to be buggy.

Don’t remember which item it was for, just that I could purchase it or start a trial, and this was right after restarting for an update about an hour ago. This update is also one that I was delaying for a while that continued to pop up despite repeatedly choosing the option for the next century.
Haven’t seen it pop up again (though it hasn’t been very long either), but it’s not the point of that specific ad, it’s that there are ads enabled in the first place of a paid-for product.
Only on the specific ad.
Doesn’t change that upon restarting my computer after an update that I was shown an ad for an Avast product.
Even regardless of the settings that affect the other ads, paying for a license shouldn’t show any unless specifically opting in, or then what’s the point in paying for the licenses? Honestly, the worst offender is the one claiming that there’s issues with the computer to get people to pay for the cleanup tool with the only way to hide that is to just go through the steps to always skip it.
Seems over time Avast is becoming more of adware than anti-virus even for paying customers. Hopefully this changes soon, this will definitely be making me rethink any plans on renewal in a year’s time if it continues down the current path.
Simply choose a custom install when installing or, after installation Change your install by going to control panel, program and features, select Avast next select change and uncheck the items you don’t want. When finished, reboot your system.
