Advertising pop-up

Hi

Hoping someone can help. I run the free version on Windows 8.1 - I keep getting a pop-up advert for Avast Business. Is there anyway to turn this off, I have no need for Avast Business and find it really annoying >:(

Welcome to the forum.
If you use the free version of Avast like I do, you will occasionally see a popup Ad.
Simply close the popup. In the paid version, there is an option to turn the popups off.

could always right click the icon and enable silent/gaming mode.
This has recently been discussed on the forum, no obvious drawbacks have been

Using Silent Gaming Mode does prevent some of the notification that you should see from ever getting to you.

There are drawbacks, which were also mentioned in some of the topics.

Depends on user settings if using Hardened Mode (Aggressive) then you won’t see the interactive window - the program you are trying to launch just won’t. You won’t know the reason why, because you can’t see the Hardened Mode notification popup.
