not that you could remove the advertising on the free avast 2014 bothers me because I am already great with avast free and I do not want to upgrade hello 
If it bothers you then pay for a commercial version…
It is relatively discrete, how often do you open the User Interface, I barely notice it and I probably spend a lot more time in the interface than most, for screenshots when helping in the forums.
