Where can I see/change the IP address/name of the EAS in a client?
Currently AMS/EAS server IP/DNS can be changed in avast5.ini file only. There is no field in GUI.
You have actually two ways how to change it:
1 - If u know that server IP is going to be changed, set a new AMS/EAS IP address under Computer catalog → Communication and apply it to the clients. This way server IP will be modified in avast5.ini on all selected clients.
2 - If server IP has been changed, you have to change/specify new IP of your server manually in avast5.ini.
Why we have this option in ABP/ABPP 6.0.1373 (under Options → Troubleshooting) and not in AEP/AEPP/AEPS/AEPSP 7.x?
Even with avast! 4.8, we had the aswChAms.exe command to change the AMS in the clients. I don’t think that change manually a ini file is the best option.
Good question !
aswchams.exe is missing on avast 7 !
I use it in a GPO script on loggin when I change the AMS server.
Please Mr Dev add it to Avast 7 !
