After 4.6 update I get e-mail scan icon poping up with no reason

I noticed e-mail scan icon appearing every few minutes for around 20 seconds, the one with envelopes and a blue siren in front of them. Weird thing is that I do not even have e-mail client installed on my system and I am not sending or receiving any e-mail when the icon shows up.

I cannot open it, it only says xxxxxxxxxxxx.vs.shawcable.net if I point a mouse over it, where xxx is some really long number I cannot remember.

I ran antivirus scan, adware scan - they do not show any viruses or adware or troyans on my system.

My best hope it is some bug in Avast. I am also running edonkey 24/7 and the icon only flashing when the donkey is running.

I would hate to reformat the system because of some virus that Avast let to slip into the system.

Is this a known issue? How do I deal with this icon false pop ups?

Donkey is probably using mail ports for its communication. You can set the mail scanner to ignore this program by inserting such a line to file avast4.ini under [MailScanner]:
IgnoreProcess=xxx.exe
where xxx.exe is the appropriate file name (Donkey’s executable).

Another way is to tell EDonkey to use only a certain range of ports in the settings, not including standard ports.
(If this is possible with EDonkey)

I am not using standard ports, neither e-mail ports. However I will try the “ignore” line this evening. Thanks
