After AVAST file deletion process, USB stick is no longer recognized

Hello Avast users, perhaps someone has a solution for this?

On my Windows 11 PC (all updates, up to date), I wanted to delete two RAR files from a 128 GB USB stick using AVAST (“Destroy with Avast”). In the middle of the deletion process, AVAST interrupted the deletion process with an error message (red X) and the USB stick was suddenly no longer listed in the system.

A USB stick that previously worked perfectly is now unusable due to an AVAST file deletion process. Since the USB stick is no longer recognized, this also makes data recovery etc. difficult. I am not completely unfamiliar with Windows and software applications, but all tips etc. (including those on YouTube) are useless if the stick is not recognized.

How and why did a simple AVAST file deletion process render my USB stick unusable, and how can this be reversed or repaired? I would be very grateful for any help in this matter.

In the meantime, I was able to determine the error code via the Windows 11 Device Manager:
This device has been stopped because it reported errors. (Code 43)
Error requesting to set the USB address.

The USB stick is not recognized.
