Thanks for the response.
However, the computer will not boot up at all! Hence going to the desktop to get to the web browser is not even an option.
Any suggestions?
Use a computer that is working to download and create the bootable usb.
I’m not well versed in these matters …
I got the download part, that i got. but “bootable” USB?
Follow the instructions in the link Asyn has given you.
What version of windows do you have and is it 32 or 64 bit
sorry to say idk… :-[
i have two others that i’ve reformated and changed things around hence the confusion
Was it XP, windows Vista, Windows 7 or windows 8
just found out that it’s Windows 7 64bit…
Download the following three programmes to your desktop on a working system :
For 64bit systems
2. Windows 7 64bit RC I will PM the link
3. Farbar Recovery Scan Tool x64
Insert the USB stick Then run Rufus

Select the ISO file on the desktop via the ISO icon.
Press Start Burn
Then copy FRST to the same USB

Insert the USB into the sick computer and start the computer. First ensuring that the system is set to boot from USB
Note: If you are not sure how to do that follow the instructions Here

i got the e-mail…Thank You!!
BTW, i recall when running the Boot-Time Scan, many that were detected as viruses were not able to be moved to chest or delete. Might you know what that means?
Also, what’s the difference between deleting vs moving to chest vs fix?
Thanks again!
Deleting is permanent, whereas move to chest means you can get them back
