After system restore (roll-back) cannot update AVAST!

Some explanation:
I’m using Win XP pro, with ZoneAlarm firewall and AVAST! home edition.
Everything worked fine but after system restore I cannot update AVAST! any more (manual or automatic updates: both didn’t works). I tryed to remove and re-install avast - same problem: update starts, it seems files are transfered and the can wait forever (or update says “no update available”).

Did someone has some suggestion ???

If you disable ZA will avast update?
System restoration of XP is a mess Sorry to say but I have terrible experienced that. I changed to Symantec GoBack…

One more thing: after killing ‘avast.setup’ several times (process restarts itself) it’s possible to make update once ??? To update agian: again few kills of avast.setup and so one. Automatic update didn’t work
