After update to 4.8.1290, Now it wont scan all files??

Hello All Wise Gents, I downloaded 4.8.1229.80923 a few weeks ago and all the scans I did
found no viruses or bad files. Now on 11-24-08 I updated to 4.8.1290 and now when I scan
the complete computer a window opens and says 10 files unable to scan. And in the action key
nothing is a hot key. I can’t delet or remove or move to the chest? I’m worried about what is not working with avast 4.8 home and why it can’t scan these 10 files? Does anyone know what to do why avast can’t scan all but 10 files.? And the 10 files it can’t scan are they spywear or a virus or a keystroke program of 10 files?

I have C: drive and a smaller D: drive that came with this gateway GM5420 computer,Intel core 2 duo E6300 3 bit dual core CPU at 1.86Ghz, Shared 2Mb L2 Cache, 1066Mhz FSB (I don’t know what this last is?) and 2 Mb ram.
The 1st 8 files all start out with:
D:\i386\Apps\App000013\app\msc.…\agntcons.vbs
the next 7 start out same except last…\agntlang.vbs
…\comctl.lpk and …\config.ini and …pbar.vbs and …\UnInsStr.vbs and uninst.vbs and last of 8th file …uninstall.htm. Then the last 2 are the same D:.…aolan.ini33BFF8D5_736E_4B81_927D_F430E58D7

I hope I get some good answers to tell me what to do with these files and how do I find them and maybe disable them and see if computer still works right r if I delete these then my computer may not work right then I will be in troble trying to find these files and reinsatlling them. My computer seams to be working normally now. But like I said Could these 10 files be a virus r spywear or a keystroke program or what ever? I am old scholl and don’t know what to do about finding these files and maybe removing them or just leave them alone and after every scan it will come up with these unable to scan. I have never heard of a anti-virus program not being able to scan all files?? I hope everyone understands what I’m saying here. Thanks for your help. CV

By examining 1) the reason given by avast! for not being able to scan the files, 2) the location of the files, you can get an idea of what program they relate to. You may need to expand the column headings to see all the text.

Files that can’t be scanned are just that, not an indication they are suspicious/infected, just unable to be scanned.
Don’t worry that much.

By the way, you can update to 4.8.1296 version.

This is just a wild guess but a brief Google search for agntcons.vbs and agntlang.vbs implies that they seem to belong to McAfee. Seeing them in i386 folder, they may be pre-installed on your PC. Does this ring a bell, centralfla?
