After updating, no full-time scan for viruses (one computer only)

So I updated Avast on my computers today. It went well on my Windows 7 laptop, but not so well on my Windows Vista desktop.

It updated, however, when I go to “scan,” there is no “Full-time” scan. Only a “Boot-time” scan.

I didn’t really do anything wrong. I’ll be honest here though, recently, the list of scans on my Windows Vista desktop has been weird with a lot of ? scans in the list.

I’m not sure what to do here.

I’d rather not do a clean un-re-install of Avast on my Vista desktop but I may not have a choice.

Anyone have any ideas of what to do and how to fix this? I’d really appreciate any help with this.

Thank you.

tried avast repair?

contolpanel > ad/remove programs > avast > uninstall/change > repair option … wait a minute and reboot

any change?

Will that fix it though?

as i asked … any change? … that means try and find out

I tried it. No change.

Is there anything else I can do or do I have no alternative but to do a clean un-re-install?

If I have to do that… I don’t exactly remember how to do it.

Download Avast Uninstall Utility to your Desktop.
Download the correct version of Avast
Avast Free
Avast Pro
Avast Internet Security
Avast Premier
Disconnect from the net
Uninstall Avast via control panel

[]Run the uninstall tool and accept the reboot to safe mode
[
]Once complete reboot your system
[*]Reinstall Avast

Doing that worked.

I don’t know why a lot of GB were taken up on my hard drive space, but hopefully, everything is fine now.
