Ah Darn It!!

hi…
sorry, I am so p***ed off to feel very cordial even though I am begging for help.

the font on IE has miracously changed…I can barely see anything to read on this forum or even my homepage…
the monitor is flicking…
the tower is humming its own hum…
I–again!–had to uninstall, reinstall, uninstall realone player and it still won’t work…keeps asking me to for approval to run script…and it says the cd tracks are saved but I have to put the darn cd in if I want to listen to it…

scans are clean…any ideas?
I hate this dell…and their support won’t help 'cause I use SpyBot and Adware…that sucks!

cojo…sorry she is so mad, mad, mad >:(

lie and say you dont use spybot  try a scan online housecall.trendmicro.com

run spybot and adaware with updates. also you can take it to your closest best buy they have really good repair dudes there.

sigh…that bad, hey?

did the spybot and adware/boot scan and through scan clean/…and dell support knew I had been using spybot and adware and will not help me…

thanks, Mac…I’ll go to housecall
God, I can barely see what you have written because of the display…font is tiny!

Hmm, do you use Internet Explorer?
If so, check out View menu → Text size – is it set to Medium? Some hostile web sites sometimes tend to set this to some other value, and IE’s security measures seem to be to liberate to allow them to do so… :-\

(((VLK)))

yes…that was it! but how could that happen unless I changed the setting???

darn…you are good

what kind of cookies would you like baked…
cojo

I think there’s some shortcut to change the font size - maybe you pressed it mistakenly?

(It happens to me quite often in Opera - by mistake, I hit the shortcut “Zoom -100%” ;D)

Igor…you get some cookies, too

but I learned the hard way not to change anything until I check with the Avast! experts…it took so much work and help to get me straighted out when I goofed before that I am very careful now!

Do you all know Toby Keith’s song, “I Love This Bar…?”
well, I love these forums!! ;D

cojo

oh yes I have the CD! One tip to keep this from happening use Spyware Guard from javacool it alerts you of any changes to the IE settings and asks your approval before you or any program can change it.

thanks, Mac…will do

Another online spyware scanner:

http://www.spywareinfo.com/xscan.php

It may ask to install activeX which is okay.
