There is a new AIM trojan (well, it isn’t caught by avast! on-access scanner, anyhow) which goes by the filename of pic0123.exe and is listed as an MS-DOS program under it’s properties page in XP; however, this program opens up your AIM buddy list and sends an IM to all your online buddies asking them to click the following URL: (WARNING! DO NOT CLICK THIS! IF YOU DO, DO NOT DOWNLOAD OR RUN THE FILE IT WILL TRY TO INSTALL!!!) REMOVED
So far, I have not noticed any damage from said file besides just trying to spread itself through IMs via said URL. It is merely a nuisance, as far as I know, but avast could stop it.
I was able to remove said trojan/virus/whatever you want to call it by simply bringing up the TASK MANAGER in XP and killing the filename PIC-123.EXE and then deleting it. I have had no problems since.
Hope this helps someone!
