AIS 5.0.624 - is there a not public version

Hi at all,

It’s funny - for about two weeks running on my pc the 5.0.624 version of avast internet security.
This update was available via the automatic update.
As I find only the official version 5.0.594.
Have so far no problems with it.
Another thing is that on both pcs that have installed Avast - Avast Pro 5.0.594 and AIS 5.0.624 both
updated, always a warning appears about rootkit mbamswissarmy.sys located at c: \ windows \ system32 \ drivers \ mbamswissarmy.sys!
Both MBAM was excluded in the exceptions to Avast under settings.
Any solution in sight?
Thanks.

Tevion

Most probably a cracked version.
Other possibility is an internal version for translators.

What is the latest version of avast!?

No, its under no circumstances a cracked version, regulary buyed at Avast official shop.

Tevion

No way…! A cracked version via autoupdate.!?? ;D
We had that several times before a new pre-release. So maybe…

The latest regular release version is 5.0.594, why Trevion ended up with what appears to be an internal build is beyond me, perhaps the internal build was on a server which was somehow selected in the update check process. There has been one other topic reporting this build number I believe.

A manual program update reports 5.0.594 is the latest version, image1.

Nothing personal Asyn.
But sometimes people think I’m just guessing.
It’s a hard work to quote all the times.
I think, this time, it will worth.
I’m not guessing. Seems it occurred before:

Hi Tech,

  1. Never thought so.
  2. Sure, it did occur before… (see my post above)
Still there will never be a cracked version distributed via autoupdate…!! Else it would mean avast distributes cracked versions (not good for business at all…) and the link you refered to is related to a private torrent not to any official autoupdate.

  1. No idea why my pc just received this update, I was just surprised.
  2. I use an official version purchased by element 5 !!!
Had no time to write about this earlier in the forum.

The second point of my post is a lot more annoying.
Apparently there is still an incompatibility between Avast and MBAM.
The main driver for the functionality of MBAM is absolutely necessary and is certainly not a rootkit.
A solution would be fine.

Tevion

Did you also exclude it in the file shield settings now…?
If not, do so…!!
asyn

It’s already there. Exclude avast in MBAM (whitelist) and exclude MBAM in avast (Exclusion lists of File Shield and on-demand scannings).

Was my first action after the installation of MBAM Pro.
And in general, although exceptions.
All possible paths, apparently helps but not always.

should I then think that my 6.0 install is not legit ???

Depends on which program you installed. ;D

well it’s got an holographic firewall, isn’t that cool 8) (I’m not going back to 5.0.594 as you can imagine)

Yes, the holographic firewall is, for sure, the best choice right now… ;D 8)
