would it be possible to install comodo firewall and stop the AIS firewall permanently?

would it be safe?

Yes - but you’d need to uninstall the AIS firewall component, not just stop it (control panel, uninstall programs, ais, change, untick firewall, reboot).

Why would you want to do that though?

Are you having problems with AIS firewall - users here might be able to help?

Are you looking to install a HIPS (D+)?

nothing. been searching for best firewall and most of the articles say it’s Comodo.

AIS firewall is working fine so far, no probs. i just want to give it a try.

sorry but what’s HIPS (D+)? noob here. ??? ??? ???

ei, last question dude. i enabled the defence+ and at the same time my AIS antispyware is enabled as well. would that be okay or should I disable one of them?

Asyn is very knowledgeable.

Most inexperienced users (such as myself) can expect a bit of a steep learning curve with D+. (The latest version is a lot more user friendly in default setup though).

You shouldn’t need to disable or uninstall anything in AIS except the FW component.

There are some debates about potential clashes between BS and D+ when a detection is actually made, but I certainly haven’t ever seen any.

Forgot to mention - you should disable the autosandbox in one of them - I suggest D+

Why not just leave it essentially as it is on default setings if that isn’t causing you any problems?

As I said though, you may want to disable D+ autosandbox. I have never run avast and D+ autosandbox at the same time. They may play nicely together, but I don’t know and so couldn’t comment.
