Yes - but you’d need to uninstall the AIS firewall component, not just stop it (control panel, uninstall programs, ais, change, untick firewall, reboot).
Why would you want to do that though?

Most inexperienced users (such as myself) can expect a bit of a steep learning curve with D+. (The latest version is a lot more user friendly in default setup though).
You shouldn’t need to disable or uninstall anything in AIS except the FW component.
There are some debates about potential clashes between BS and D+ when a detection is actually made, but I certainly haven’t ever seen any.
Why not just leave it essentially as it is on default setings if that isn’t causing you any problems?
As I said though, you may want to disable D+ autosandbox. I have never run avast and D+ autosandbox at the same time. They may play nicely together, but I don’t know and so couldn’t comment.
