The title says it all. I have the latest Avast Internet Security, and for about the past 3 weeks, each scheduled scan thinks these same files (Chrome Recovery and Google Update Setup) are bad and need to be removed. I’ve tried Repair, Move to Chest, and Delete, and I’ve even run the boot time scan, as Avast suggested, but on the next scheduled scan a week later, it finds these guys again. Presumably, they’re just 2 components of my Chrome installation, or that of the older Chrome in the Avast Safe Zone. Either way, I am unable to browse to the path suggested by Avast, since they don’t seem to exist, even among hidden folders. Even the part of the file description that points to Appdata\Local\Temp doesn’t seem to exist, but since it was in Temp, I just deleted the entire Temp folder, remade it, and moved on. They still manage to show up in scans, including the one that just finished a few minutes ago. Is this a real infection that needs to be removed, or is Avast just being dumb here? Can I reset the Sandbox at all? Any help is much appreciated.
