AIS Firewall Bug? (Group automatically created with no application/rule listed)

Under AIS Firewall Application Rules I have noticed that I have a Group (Trusteer Ltd) that contains no applications/rules - however Trusteer does successfully connect/update - so it is being allowed to access the internet, despite having no rule that I can see/amend.

I have tried Repair - but that hasn’t done anything.

Also I recently noted a New Firewall Rule pop-up that said “Avast has automatically configured the following application to access the network” - but there was no application named. It was as if having decided to grant access the firewall then didn’t actually recognise the file (so why did it grant access?). (I doubt if that event related to the Trusteer issue, since I have had that program running for months).

Anyone else seen anything similar?

Yeah, Opera does something like this with my AIS firewall, see here>>http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=60945.0

Its been a few weeks since I sent Avast! some logs, never heard back from them.

Still tossing the idea of re-installing around to try and fix, or ditching this FW for one that does what it is told.

Thanks for the info.

I had another idea. I tried to delete the Trusteer Ltd group, to see whether it would then be reinstated correctly - however that just produced a message saying I couldn’t because “The directory is not empty”.

So there are definitely rules there for this application - it’s just that I can’t see them or adjust them!

Sorted (or at least worked around) - I stopped and restarted the firewall, and now I can see the rules for Trusteer.

Having continued to play around with this, I wonder if it may be linked to AIS firewall’s ability/inability to correctly recognise file details?

If under Application Rules I click on Avast Antivirus Update I get a Path, but no Description, Company or Signature details.

If I then click on something with a signature (eg Thunderbird/Rapport) and then go back and click on Avast Antivirus Update I get the path for Avast, but sometimes (not always) still get the Description and Company details for Thunderbird/Rapport, and no Signature!
