i have been out of this forum for quite a long time but since i started using AVAST again i think i will stick around here
I installed AIS two days ago and in the beginning it refused to start the Firewall . It stop the internet connection for the rest of the day. I restarted twice and the firewall started working and the internet came back. Two of my installed software try to change connection after i refuse it stops the internet again. Restarted again and it works fine. After an hour or so it keeps blocking. do i need to do something?
the rest of the program is doing fine. I have Zemana turned off and MBAM turned off too
Try an installation from scratch.
Download aswclear.exe (http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility) and install AIS again.
Reboot and see if everything is working again.
I hope you change your signature as Avast 4.8 Home has not been around for a long time.
Current is V5.1.889 and is called avast! Free or Internet Security.
There is a current beta test of avast! V6.0 going on.
the problem is there and is still giving me a hard tie . The firewall is not working at all.
Windos 7 Ultimate 32 bit and i am using the normal AIS and not the Beta version
Is anything being blocked in your firewall from Avast? Check to see.
Try an Avast Repair:
- Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove programs > Avast Antivirus.
- Scroll down and choose Repair function in the pop-up window.
- Reboot.
after doing the repair thing for more than two days i finally solved the problem. Inserted the license into the right place and now is working fine. AIS is ok but i have no idea how good the firewall is? Compared to PCTOOLS for instance. I always loved AVAST. It has kept me secure for longer times than anything else but i would say the old 4.xxxx version Interface was lovely. Anyway i like it so far.
