AIS Firewall + Torrent = System Lagging

Hello,

There are several topics about avast and utorrent, but there is no real solution given.

I don’t want to uninstall avast!!! That’s not an option.

I tried several torrent clients (utorrent, tixati, bittorrent etc.) but the result is the same - If firewall is ON, as soon as upload speed goes up - system starts stuttering and when I turn off firewall, or torrent client - everything is OK.

Here is the video I just recorded - Link To Dropbox - When I turn on Firewall, even mouse starts lagging…

Is there any way I can force avast to ignore utorrent (I tried to add it to exceptions in file and web shields - nothing changed)? Or any other solution?

P2P shield is not installed.

Anybody?

Hi

Well I never had any problems between AIS and Utorrent, well I can see you didn,t metion what version of AIS do you use, latest version of AIS is 7.0.1474,update to latest version and see for yourself if you still facing with problems and upgrade Utorrent to version 3.2.3 Build 28705.

Thank you.

Bye

Tnx for responding JuninhoSlo

Sorry, I forgot to mention:

Avast version: 7.0.1474
utorrent: 2.0.4.20586
OS: Windows 8 PRO 64bit

As I already said, this is not a problem with utorrent only (I tried latest versions, even latest beta and alpha) - With any other torrent client, as soon as upload speed goes up, system starts lagging. If there are no active uploads, or upload speed is low - no lags.

I had DSL Connection with low upload rate (about 25 kb/s) and everything was fine. Few days ago I moved to optical fiber connection - 40 mb/s and that’s where the problem started.

For now, only solution for me is to disable firewall permanently and thats not a real “solution” I’m seeking for.

I think the best solution for you is to wait for Avast 8.

It’s sort of a long going issue that i’ve also been experiencing in the past when i had the AIS. I think they won’t be fixing it becaue avast! 8 will be using Agnitum’s networking stack which will most likely fix this entirely by itself. So best bet is to wait for avast! 8 release due end of the February (probably).

Tnx guys. I didn’t know that version 8 release was planned so soon.

I will wait then.

You can download Avast PRO 8 Beta if you want, don,t forget remove Avast PRO 7 with aswclear.exe in safe mode.
