Can anyone tell me if the pop-up I received means that the virus was blocked or that my computer was infected with the virus. Please refer to the attached picture and let me know. Thank you.
the attached picture is not visible…unless i download and save… got it :
does it show up now? This popped up on a mac by the way. Not windows
Didn’t show for me i downloaded the image and going to see if it shows up in a post for me. if it is ok with you… if it isn’t than i will gladfully remove the image from this reply
Edit: The image isn’t showing for me either…
im ok with that. please try it. anything that will help me figure out what it actually means.
nope, have to download and save to see it
anyway avast report that URL is infected with a redirect… and the site is down http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com/http://www.dittoseek.com
Sucuri - http://sitecheck.sucuri.net/results/www.dittoseek.com
urlQuery - http://urlquery.net/report.php?id=59830 click picture in top right corner
@OP I see why the image might not be showing… It is “.Jpeg” under attachments it says “Allowed file types: txt, jpg, gif, png, log
Restrictions: 4 per post, maximum total size 192KB, maximum individual size 200KB” as you can see jpeg isn’t listed o.o
i thought jpeg and jpg were the same. i guess not
best to save as gif…as this makes it small
it is

well at least im not totally lost about the jpeg, but does the picture i displayed mean im infected at all cause im not sure. Ive used many other versions of avast on windows back when i had windows that is, but on a mac its still very new to me and usually it says something like “blocked threat” or “stopped download” but the free avast for mac just has a very vague message system i guess. Why couldnt it just say “stopped potential threat”. Guess thats too straight forward.
since this is on a Mac i guess the program is a bit different… i have no experience with it
but it say the webshield detected a iframe at that URL…however as you see from my links above the site is down
also whatever malware was/is located there…may not be designed for Mac :
you can always run a quick scan
yeah thats a good point.
trying to download … only give a 0kb ads.php file… so as i can see, there is nothing there
HTTP/1.1 200 OK

Based on the factor that the site is down, they are probably trying to resolve this issue the very moment.
I’ve always been taught to save as PNG!
Any other format ruins the colors of sprite work, etc…
You had a good teacher…!!
actually the picture was saved as a .tiff but i change the extension on the file to be .jpg so i could upload it

That won’t work, you’ve to convert it to .jpg…!!
works on a mac

Maybe a mac is smarter then. ;D
