I have setup an SMTP alert in the Distributed Network Manager console and tested it and it all works fine.
I have amended the Default Resident Task for the on-access scanning client task to use this SMTP alert.
However, after pushing out the avast! NetClient Edition to a PC and checking its Settings in the Simple User Interface, the alert doesn’t appear. The SMTP settings are all correct on the client.
I have the option to add the SMTP alert on the client PC, but i don’t want to have to do this on all my client PC’s. Is there anyway to get this alert pushed out to all my clients? Or do i assume that it has been setup on the client? Is there anyway to test for it? I assume that the clients should send an email alert if a virus is detected? Is it possible to get it to send an alert should there me an update problem, or any other error with avast on the client?
Another thing i just noticed, on the NetClient, when clicking Tools → Switch to Enhanced User Interface, it just closes the application (not much of an enhanced interface if you ask me!!)
Anyway, any advice you can give me is much appreciated.
Many thanks
Dan Williams.
