Being using Avast Password on my Samsung A8 for a few months. Now, all of a sudden, it requires to enter master password to work. Usually it just takes my fingerprint.
Note: I deleted finger print and reentered it 3 weeks ago, at that time it asked for master password, that was ok, but it’s been working normally since then, up to this morning.
This never happens before, is this legitimate or is it a virus trying to get master password?
P.S. Using AVAST Password on my PC also and it does not ask for master password to work.
When Fingerprint is activated, Passwords will offer fingerprint identification as the default option to unlock the vault. The vault can be unlocked with the Master Password by tapping “Switch to keyboard”. It is possible to switch back to unlock using your fingerprint by tapping the fingerprint icon in the top right corner.
You will also be asked to use the master password if you had any changes on your phone (e.g. a software update).
“You will also be asked to use the master password if you had any changes on your phone (e.g. a software update).”
That is my worry, I did not had an update and even when I had an Android update in the past, it never switched back to master password. This happened out of the blues one morning with no apparent reason.
If you can close the request window without entering your password and still be able to get to your stuff on that phone,
then I would suspect some foul play. Otherwise, you need to enter your password.
