I just updated my Premier version of Avast and ALL of the settings are back to the default! While I remember some, I certainly don’t remember the extremely important ones, such as:
[ol]- White and Black list
These lists aren’t something one can remember and thus count on Avast to retain between updates.
HOW DO I GET THEM BACK! Don’t it the trial and error way is the worst method and is unacceptable!

Settings should be retained if you do a program update from the avastUI, even an install over the top I believe should retain the settings.
So if that didn’t happen, it certainly isn’t normal.
Changes to the default settings are usually retained in one of the .ini files in the C:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Avast folder, see image. Check the date modified/created is that is very recent then they are likely to have gone.
Whilst timing is everything (for the future), you can use the avastUI > Settings > General - scroll down to the bottom and use the Back up settings, prior to any program update. If need be you can then restore settings.
