All the shields are useless to me

[ol]- The file shield is useless to me since it stops my iMac shutting down without manual intervention i.e press and hold stop/start button and switch the shield off in the preferences

• most email from my email accounts are retrieved using https
• The web shield prevents access to the Mac App store using Apples “App Store.app”[/ol]

1. Does the system just hang? Can you provide any detail?

3. If you disable the web shield can you access the App store? I Just tested on OS 10.7.3 and was able to access the App Store. Perhaps tho is only Snow Leopard? I will try to find a Snow Leopard computer to test.
