Alternitive Virus Submission suggestion

Hi,

I know the topic of how quick virus submissions are responded to has been discussed before, however I notice on the Bitdender forum they have a section for malware and you can upload files (Zipped and password protected) to this section with your message.

The good thing is only the bitdefender staff can download the files and every couple of days the virus researchers check the files and post a response.

I thought this is a great idea and wondered if the Avast team would consider doing something similar. Also would mean that those users that keep an eye on this forum can get there virus samples detected more quickly.

What do you think?

PS Had a long stint away but come back now to Avast on the lap top and it runs so well with Vista. (Found Bitdefender 2008 very buggy)

Good suggestion. Something related to new submission process is being studied by Alwil team.
By the way, the BitDefender 10 or 2008 is very ‘intrusive’ indeed: four services for an on demand scanner, lots of drivers loaded at boot time. Not anymore an option for a second, non-resident, scanner.
