Sorry if this is the wrong forum, but Alureon looks like a very serious threat. The above article just posted as well on Slashdot.

Looks like a serious source of infection so I thought I should mention it.

Does Avast detect and remove this kind of threat? Or is another program required?

Think I will set up dual boot with latest Ubuntu 11.04 just in case and also have another couple live CD versions of Linux ready to go.
