Is ALWIL planning in the near future to release a firewall whether as a plug-in with Avast anti-virus or as an all-in-one security solution? I would prefer a plug-in solution as it provides more flexibility for consumers.
They certainly haven’t mentioned anything about any intention in the forums.
I by far prefer that avast doesn’t become a Norton suite or other bloatware, I choose what software best suits my needs and plug-ins may not do this either if they are too tied to the parent application. Such as my firewall outpost pro, it has many plug-ins and many of this I have disabled, the problem is they come with the program and are enabled by default.
The problem with using multiple third party security software is that the two or more software applications typically cause system issues because both have their own methods to making systems secure. When I referred to plug-in I meant that if ALWIL created a seperate firewall that it would work in conjunction with Avast Anti-Virus. Being a seperate application you as a consumer would have the option to use ALWIL’s recommended solution or even to still opt for third party software.
I’d like the idea of a standalone application.
I don’t think (probably I’m wrong) that a firewall could be ‘just’ a plugin of an antivirus software. :
