the virus def. update on the site is VPS 090602-0 dated 2.6.2009 while VPS 090605-0 dated 5.6.2009 is the latest VPS.

It is usually updated simultaneously, but on occasion for whatever reason that fails and the two aren’t in sync.
Personally I never worry about this as doing a manual update check confirms you have the latest version or downloads it.
Mina… why did you check the website to know if your avast is updated? ???
I know, the site must be updated, but who cares? I mean, which avast user cares
