I got a virus from the link in the description of this video: youtu.be/SLUJmSzfqL4 Avast caught it, but windows still appeared and immediately disappeared so I figured something was still going on. Two system32 DLL files also were on the dekstop. I shut off my computer immediately by holding the power button and booted into safe mode. I deleted the associated files on my desktop and checked to see if I had any encrypted files in my documents or pictures. THere are no encrypted files there luckily so it’s not ransomware. The latest version of TDSSKiller reports no rootkits, but I believe the virus attempted to install one due to the DLL files. Malwarebytes detected several viruses with the main one being a trojan.proxyhijacker. The rest were PUPs. What I need to know is am I doing enough to COMPLETELY remove the virus from my system? Will I need to reinstall my OS for that? Is there a way to know for sure?
First you should have continued in the topic you already started https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=186900
