AM I need to install two AEA?

Hi,

I need to install 5 server (using Endpoint Production Plus Suits) and several PCs (using Endpoint Production Plus) in our environment. I got the following issues:

  1. Am I need to install 2 different version of the AEA? (installation package named ****epp.exe and ****epsp.exe)

  2. I have already install the AEA for Endpoint Production Plus in Server08 R2 (with SQL Express). But when I try to install the other AEA (for Endpoint Production Plus Suits), it prompt me that that version was an old one and cannot be installed. Amy I need to install the two AEA console into two difference server for management?

  3. After deploy the program for testing, it prompt me for password when I try to access the setting page. What is the password and where can I reset it using the AEA console.

  • No. You must install the epsp package only.

    Username: Administrator
    Password: admin

Yes, you need two AEA. One AEA to manage avast! Endpoint Protection Suite Plus (5 servers) and other AEA to manage [b]avast! Endpoint Protection Plus /b. Every AEA only can manage one avast! business product, you cannot combine avast! Endpoint Protection Suite Plus and avast! Endpoint Protection Plus in the same AEA.

You cannot use the same machine to install two AES/AEA. They use the same TCP ports.

IMHO, I’ll only install an AEA console to manage all the worksations with avast! Endpoint Protection Plus and for the 5 servers I’ll make a standalone installation.

Thanks for suggestion. It’s suit for me. On the other hand, I am getting into the Admin.ini configuration right now. Do you know any tutorial / manual for it?

You can manage servers and workstations from one EAE. The endpoint protection plus suite is a collection of endpoint protection licenses. If you have seperated keys for that then you can contact your reseller to create one key for use in the EAE product.

The EAE product will be installed one 1 server and from there you can deploy all the avast client installations to the servers and the workstations that need the avast software (and i know this, because i am using it like that right now).

Editting the admin.ini is only needed in special cases. The EAE controls most of the settings already from the console itself without manually editting the admin.ini
