This is a big improvement over the last year…last year it was 4.5 out 6.0 and now it is 5.5 out of 6.0…Big difference. ;D
Evo-gen/Filerepmalware and new technologies made a big difference here I guess…Congrats Avast team!! 
Still version 7
The new technologies are common to both v7 or v8 so there is no big deal really…there would be 0% difference between testing v7/v8 at any point of time.Except the sandbox,that is improved in v8 may make some difference there.
However,I still take these reviews as a gospel of money and god as these tests have no proof that they really tested something

Avast did great. I question the performance test results for many of these. Some of these seem flawed like they are reversed. Maybe performance is much different in Windows 8 as compared to W7? What are your thoughts?
They didn’t test removal. I wonder if they are discontinuing this test?
The test for Win7 was done when backend technologies were not ready and that’s why there is a difference.
