I’d like this scenario if possible:
Ohio - AMS Master, Manage UK and Ohio
UK - AMS Slave, can manage UK only
This Possible with avast?? How?

As far as I know, you can have multiple AMS servers, but they work as a team. There is no, master/slave or domain/sub-domain config possible I don’t think.
Basically, it just allows you to have multiple servers for larger organizations, so that all computers aren’t hitting one mirror, or for fault tolerance.
I could be wrong though. I don’t have an organization that spans anymore than two buildings side-by side.
If you haven’t looked yet, try the manual and see if it says anything.
you can create users and assign ACCESS RIGHTS to folders and objects itself
so the setup that you want should be able to create, its a bit stoneage tho… (no offense to alwil, but i hope this part will be improved in the new version)
Thanks for the additional info wpn, I figured it worked this way.
Hopefully they’ll add a bit more advanced configuration in the newer versions. I’d hate to see large corporations not use avast because it just won’t work the way it needs to when there are multiple locations involved.
If Alwil wants to take on the big contenters of the A/V world, spending some quality time with the ADNM console and the AMS server is a must!
