How do I stop the leaf ams from updating from the internet and get it to update form the root ams?
Also the only machine I can get to update the vps is the root server all other machines connected to the root end up with a 0x00000004 error, Might be too many 0’s in that code but I am at home now researching.
ps. we just purchased a 2000 license package and I am starting to get worried as I can’t even get 1 root and 1 leaf ams to function and I have another 137 leaf ams servers, 100 normal severs and 950 workstations to configure.
The mirror, main value means that it will first try to get the files from the mirror (specified by FirstMirrorUrl), and only if that fails it will go to the Internet.

Is it really 0x00000004 - isn’t it 0x20000004? This code means “server down”, which typically means that the mirror could not be reached. Please see my today’s post in this thread: http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=22123.0

I’m sure we’ll get this working, no worries. 137 sites is a lot - but it should work OK.
Any how after several stuff ups I seem to have some success. I found that I had to change the SQL profiles for each server had to be changed to use a slow link policy for update to happen properly, something I haven’t seen mentioned previously.
Anyhow back to another question. Is it possible to script the install of the management servers? Remembering that I have over 130 of the buggers to do.
It is currently not possible to silently install the AMS. However, I understand your need, and we’ll make this possible ASAP (maybe next week).
BTW I wouldn’t say separate 2nd level mirrors (instead of AMS’) would be a good solution in your case… How are the 137 locations connected with each other?
Or smallest link is 128k which would be around 95% of the locations . Five of them have 512.
Yeah I though the 2nd level mirrors would probably suit us, just need to sort out how to silently install the Mirrror and the Netserver client without errors.
